1. After careful observation on Saturday night, I have come to the realisation that a lot of girls live on air, alcohol and the occasional recreational hit. At their age and with their stick-like figures, they most certainly don’t eat.

2. When bloggers’ block strikes but the will and inspiration are there, it is best to focus the energy on other forms of writing. Too many projects can stifle creativity when there are only so many hours in the waking day.

3. Emotions have a way of flowing and taking form, be it a special look, a heart-warming smile, an appreciative gesture or a river of words that leave you feeling cool and refreshed.

4. Recently I’ve pondered if each person is meant to have a purpose in life, and how that purpose is identified then realised. Does the fact that a one wakes up to a purpose makes one strive to make it happen, or does the search for a purpose creates one? Either this is a chicken and egg scenario or my brain has just exploded.

5. Having a to-do list that grows by the minute, inducing more panic as items don’t get completed or crossed off, means it is time to set some priorities. Or to stop making lists. Busy times and multitasking do not always reap closure.

6. When you’re feeling down and out, and you’ve reluctantly sought an empathetic ear, there is a major difference between someone reminding you of all the good in your life and someone telling you that you have no right to be down. The difference can strip them down to their true colours.

7. There is something absolutely decadent about having a Martini at three pm with a good friend, just for the heck of it. Just like having more than the customary 5 Martini Moments, life is to be enjoyed without too many rules.
