About Postcards to the Past

didier.jpgSalut Cléa! Hi Darling!

I hope you had very good holidays in [tropics]. Mauritius is really a place to go to, not expensive and everyone speaks français. C’est très beau, mieux que le [tropics].

Here everything is “nearly” perfect. More face to face. Love still lives here.

See you soon
Didier

About Postcards to the Past

clea.jpgDear Mum and Dad and N

Guess who’s having a wonderful time?! It’s really hard work lying in the sun. The resort is very nice and my room is huge. Yes mum, I’ve been eating well.

Tomorrow I’m going on a 3 island cruise. Tried water skiing today. Not as easy as it looks. Lots of stories to tell.

Not missing you much, that’s you N. Have to go now. Aerobics is on. Enrolled in tennis lessons today.

Love
Cléa

About Postcards to the Past

Dear Cléa

n.jpgHi, thought you would like the card I picked up in LA. I have been here 1 ½ days and I have been to Knotts Berry Farm Amusement Park, Hollywood/Beverly Hills and then the Spruce Goose and the Queen Mary Ship at long Beach.

Fiji was nice. I have discovered a place to have long hours in the sun by day and long hours doing nothing at night. It’s a good break.

Things are good but guess who I’m thinking about.

See you soon.
Love
Nathan

About Postcards to the Past

Dear Cléa

john.jpgMany thanks for your letter. Yes, I took up a lecturing contract in the sun! Very beautiful island and unspoilt. As you can imagine, I’m enjoying myself.

Anyway it is nice to be remembered by my student. I hope you’re doing well as your ambitions are high but good. I’m sure you will reach them.

Please remember me to your friends and wish them all the best. Would be glad to hear of your progress and life at [name of school].

Do write, with best wishes and love

About Postcards to the Past

Dear Cléa
alex.jpgThank you for your lovely card. Things here are busy and the business is doing well so my dreams may well come true.

The weather is not too bad down here and Bali was fantastic. I only wished that I could have shared it with you.

I hope everything is ok and [my profession] is going as planned.

We shall meet again (I hope)

With lots of love
Alex

Dear Alex

What a thoughtful note on a classic card, but may I ask, who on earth are you?! I take it you’re male since you wanted to share Bali with me. But I confess that location has never appealed to me.

Everything is fine with me, but who would have believed I have given the profession the flick. I sincerely hope your dreams have come true, whatever they may have been and you didn’t turn into a workaholic. You sound like a genuine person. I wonder what became of you.

Obviously we never met again, and if we were to meet in the future, I would certainly not remember you. Can you at least give me a hint or a clue to your identity?

With lots of questions
Cléa

PS What is it with postcards and 5 x’s?
