• Caught up with a friend after a six year absence
  • Battled a nasty cold and finally won after two weeks
  • Had a dream about my neglected novel, guilty much?
  • Made margarita out of the lemons life has thrown at me
  • Saw myself on a videotape from many moons ago and wondered what happened to that girl
  • Then I remembered
  • Felt light as a feather after purging my rss reader of many blogs
  • Until I added new ones
  • Bit my tongue several times. Next time I’ll numb it with alcohol first.
  • Stayed in warm PJs all day and felt good
  • Had a busy social weekend involving too much food and not enough Martinis
  • Thought about exercising but decided to eat less and sleep in
  • Told an 8-month old not to grow up so fast
  • Sighed for summer and wished I could bottle it in suntan oil
  • Wore sunglasses and waited for that light at the end of the tunnel to turn into sunshine

Not to grow up so fast  – I think there are adults who could benefit from that same message.  I thought about exercising, but did actually do a tiny bit.  Not nearly enough to offset the mountains of food I ate in comparison the exercise I needed.  Oh well.

    Those little shits never listen.
“Felt light as a feather after purging my rss reader of many blogs”
But it’s also a little sad. Dropping like flies.
“Saw myself on a videotape from many moons ago and wondered what happened to that girl”
While I am not a girl, I know that feeling well.  I’m not sure if I’ve improved or not, but I used to be someone else entirely.  Which is why I have a hard time talking to anyone from that time.

Egan: Or… some adults need to be told to grow up. Well done on the exercise. With Bastille Day, it’s all eat and drink!

Casey: 8 months old just gurgle their response or laugh at you. And we think it’s cute.

Having lost that many favourite reads, I think I’m past the sadness. I expect everyone to just stop and disappear.

I understand what you mean. They can be a reminder of a certain time, good or bad, and sometimes we’re better off in the present.

I went for a swim in the lake, that was my exercise.  I could stand to do a bit more swimming that’s for darn sure.

  5. Cléa says:

Egan: Sounds refreshing to swim in the lake. I could do with more walking!

-Caught up with a friend after a 9 year absence, and resolved to do better next time
-Cringed as cold and flu took out 50% of the 17th floor
    -Dreamt and didn’t remember anything
-Deluded myself that the empty bottle of Tequilla might hold one more drop
-Saw myself in the mirror after days of not enough sleep, and wondered what 8 hours was like
    -Realised I’d forgotten
-Laughed as a News Ltd. Gen Y blogger was deservedly crucified
-Longed for the days when writers, not bloggers, blogged
-Let fly after tiring of biting my tongue. Felt good.
-Flopped on the couch in a dressing gown with my old old laptop, and felt stale
-Avoided social activities that would involve standing
-Tried not to think about excercise, knowing it was virtually impossible.
-Told an 8-month old not to grow up so fast
-Groaned about winter and wondered how it always managed to keep something unneccesary and painful in store for me each year
    - Lost my sunglasses under the car seat for three days, and hardly noticed

Wow, you’ve been one busy chickadee!

Hope mine wasn’t one of ‘em to get purged. ;)

    Gboy:
    - well done, 9 years is too long between good friends
    - I take it you were the other 50%
    - me too of late
    - ditto vodka, even tried squeezing it
    - at least you can go without make up :P
    - you’ll catch up, eventually
    - oh really?? is that what I think it is? I want all the gory details! about bloody time too.
    - writers as in book authors, or any writer… I think I long for the same
    - I must try it soon
    - the thought of gboy in an old dressing gown conjures up interesting visuals
    - sounds like me on some days
    - pass
    - I bet the 8 months old just gurgled and laughed
    - I understand
    - rain in TinyTown?

You sound like you need a break as much as I do!

LB: Actually, I haven’t been that busy. Only trying to justify my absence from this space after the milestone. My blogging has decreased significantly since then.

No, I haven’t purged yours. Just haven’t logged into my reader for a while!
