Imagine

Imagine you have a couple of friends older than you.
Imagine you’ve known them since your childhood.
Imagine they got married very young and had their first child very soon after.
Imagine you haven’t seen them in oooh… a while.
Imagine you get catch up and they send you family photos with a recent one of their eldest son.
Imagine he’s not the little boy you remember and he looks like a grown man.
Now imagine slapping yourself for thinking he’s too damn hot!

Yeah, my dad pastored a church.  Sometimes I see the older parishoners.  Sometimes they have daughters.  Sometimes I am a sinner.

  2. SM says:

    Ooof.

The slapping yourself makes you exempt from becoming a cougar.  So that’s something, right?

  3. Zen Wizard says:

You may say I’m a dreamer/But I’m not the only one/Who wants to nail my golfing buddy’s oldest daughter/Hey wait that’s some sick $#!T…

  4. egan says:

Wait a minute, did I see a “welcome Egan” greeting on your blog?  That’s a pretty cool piece of code you’ve installed.

Imagine spending some time in jail!  Nah, hey if he’s cute… no harm in observing.   Most of us are suckers for enjoying the looks of other people.  Not a bad thing, maybe a tad bit awkward when it’s your friend’s son.   Are we getting old or what?

  5. Grad School Reject says:

Have you noticed that when a woman talks about ’slapping herself’ for finding someone hot it has a nicer more wholesome connotation than when a man talks about “slapping himself’ after imagining a hot woman?

    Too much?

  6. Cléa says:

Casey: From what I’ve come across, children of church men tend to be, or am I watching too many episodes of the Simpsons? I guess there have to be some fringe benefits for you. Or a short story in the making.

SM: I have Casey ^^ to thank for educating me on what a cougar is. I always thought it was an animal; not a term we use here. And yes, a slap into reality. But hey, no harm in looking once, is there… *slap*

Zen: You see, why is it more acceptable for me to go after the young ‘uns? While women get labelled, men get cheered on by their mates…

Egan: ‘Welcome back, Egan’ pops up after you’ve made a comment. It’s a bit of Cléa’s personal touch and welcome. Like offering you a hazelnut latte.

They’re above legal age (thank Christ!!!), so no thought of jail but still a bit weird because of the friend situation. ‘I’m just looking’ quickly turns into ‘I’ve had one look, thanks’ – now I’m over it. With older friends who married and spawned young, they sure make us feel we are getting old!

GSR: I haven’t had the pleasure of guys telling me they slap themselves over a woman but if they did, I would pull out my Shammy cloth and hand it over to them to give their halo a good ol’ wipe.

    Too much?

  7. Mrs. Mahd says:

    That sounds about right.  :)

  8. egan says:

Nope, not too much.  Slapping is an art form for guys and that’s not sharing too much info.

Tomorrow morning, a hazelnut latte it will be.  Wow, your friends started having kids early.  No beating around the bush so to speak. (or too much hanky panky around the bush… your choice)

  9. Cléa says:

Mrs Mahd: The slapping or the young ‘un? ;)

Egan: I’d say some guys master the art of slapping and are proud of their talents.
That friend started early but it was what they both wanted. Beating around bushes…

  10. gboy says:

Hmmmm…. now imagine being a guy and this happening with all your friends’ late teenage daughters swanning about the poolside in microscopic attire. Suddenly you find yourself in a kinda grey area…

  11. Cléa says:

Gboy: They’re all shades of grey, though if the teenage girls are younger but look more like women, as many do, it can be even greyer. It’s a sign of getting older for sure but that won’t stop us looking, will it…

  12. Zen Wizard says:

Hey as long as he’s over the age of consent and not one of your “students,” I say get your shine on, Granny!

  13. Mrs. Mahd says:

    Both!

  14. Cléa says:

Zen: Eek! I don’t have the patience to teach anyone anything. And nothing to do with my old age! :P

Mrs Mahd: Did I ever tell you how much I like you?

  15. Kamigoroshi says:

Now imagine also telling that to their parents.

    I know I have.

I usually get away with not being slapped by them though. :P

  16. Cléa says:

Kami: Nooooooooooo…….. I just give a nice compliment and leave it at that. Oh the horror of some of the parents if I said any more!

  17. Lil Bit says:

    LOL…. sooooooo been there!

  18. Cléa says:

LB: LOL! Something tells me there will be more of these moments to come!
