Martini Moments… Now With Coughs Sneezes and Sniffles
1. Last century they put a man on the moon. Today they still can’t eradicate the common cold but they can produce anti viral tissues that Kill 99% of Cold and Flu viruses in the tissue before they spread.
2. With the body weakened, and nothing working to alleviate the myriad of aches and pains and the “i-want-to-die” feeling, it is also that a sign that the mind needs a rest. Pity there is no shutdown button to avoid nightmares when you’re trying to sleep.
3. When intangibles become tangible, it is time to celebrate achievements, no matter how little they may seem to you.
4. Naughty dreams and mild fevers should not mix. But they do, like cough medicine and Drambuie.
5. Lively accordéon music, free red wine from 10 am, cassoulet that has been simmering overnight, elegant scarves and stylish berets with accents that make you swoon… Happy Bastille Day/quatorze juillet to anyone indulging in a little French spirit as I am would have been had I been able to get out of bed.
The Olive in the Martini: I have been promising myself for some time that I would devote considerable effort to an important project but I have not been able to commit. Therefore I have decided to take a mini break from this blog and refocus my writing efforts elsewhere. This is not long-term. I like this space too much to be gone for long so I will return soon.

I think anti-viral tissues are ineffective and is just a marketing ploy used to boost sales.
I will miss your posts. Hope you finish off your project (are you writing a book?)and come back soon!

Looks like I’m not only one with a cold.
1. Just you wait…maybe I’ll come up a cure for something else next. Can’t guarantee you that it’ll be for the common cold though.
2. Only the comforting touch of someone closeby works wonders thought. I wonder why hospitals aren’t equipped with that kind of medication?
3. Cheers for the tangible intangible!! They should name a drink after that. It’s like a taste you can’t quite place.
4. Really? I would have thought they were better than nightmares?
5. Viva la France!!
And get well soon Cléa! No reason why both of us should be sick.

I totally knew what a cassoulet is without clicking on the link but thanks for putting the link on there for people who are not as worldly and cosmopolitan and…stuff like that…as I am.

Naughty dreams and mild fevers are bound to mix!! They are each “hot” in their own way.
July 14th, 2008 at 11:28 pm
anti-viral tissues freak me out for some reason. I’m not sure why, but they do.
I hope you start feeling better soon! And I’m glad the break won’t be long-term! Have fun!

1. yeah, yet they couldn’t be bothered doing it this century? what’s with that ( cue alfoil hat brigade LOL )??
2. I get that too whenever I have fluey stuff… the weird, unpleasant dreams. They don’t help!!
3. A small pat on the back from time to time doesn’t hurt.
4. Uhh… I don’t get the naughty ones when I am crook. Not about to say what brings them on either!!!!
5. free red wine *sigh* no red wine for me lately… free or otherwise. I sympathise and empathise!
5.1 Heaven forbid that you should do some non-blog related writing! Nah, seriously, come back when you have made some more progress and you’re happy with it. And look after yourself, get well soon.

I don’t think it is a cold, but this Summer I have the WEIRDEST allergy I have ever had in my life and I have had it for about three weeks now.
I get lightheaded and feel like I am going to almost pass out, and then it goes away.
Weird–might be a cold but I think it is an allergy.

Hate to read you’re still under the weather. Hope you’re feeling much better soon & best of luck w/the other “projects”. We’ll still be here when you return!

So I promise myself a blog break to write so what am I doing replying to my comments? Oh yeah, that flu thingy has taken over my brain…
Almost Loved: I’ve never tried them but seriously, sounds like a scam. Give me aloe vera tissues any day when I have a cold.
You are correct. I am writing a novel, though it has been neglected of late due to other priorities. Hopefully I can still find time during my blog break to make some progress.
Kami: *passes over tissues*
1. Not viral tissues, nooooooooo…
2. Not even… just want it to be over and soon. And if hospitals started administeting that, people would get sick all the time!
3. Thank you. I am quietly celebrating and will celebrate less quietly when I’m better. I have a drink just in mind…
4. They are, but odd mix.
5. Santé!
Zen: I nearly linked to a recipe but there are so many variations. If you haven’t tried it before, I recommend it. A basic peasant dish but very tasty.
EM: And I am pleased to say those dreams continued into the next night!
Sicilian: So the idea is that they’re powerful that they kill viruses in the tissues but what about your nose?
Thank you… though at the rate I’m going so far, I’ve done very little writing on the novel, and I’m feeling a case of the guilts :(.
Gboy:

1. Yeah, can you imagine what the world would be like if nobody got sick with colds?
2. At least I told myself, “wake up it’s a dream” and I did.
3. Actually, it feels very good
4. Tease!! You have to tell now!
5. No more red wine? That’s no good. I had a small glass… and suffered for it.
5.1 I’ve put it off long enough… non-blog writing should be my priority but, I am weak…
Zen: That doesn’t sounds too good. I’d rule out other factors by seeing a doctor. Or… is Zen in love?
LB: Thank you *reaches for another Kleenex* Blog break to write and colds aren’t conducive to progress so far. Sigh…

I have been absent, and I will go on hunger strike until you return or until I have lunch tomorrow, whichever comes first.
July 19th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
Do you beliefe there was a man on the moon? I start to doubt
July 21st, 2008 at 9:21 am
JW: I hope you’ve had something to eat by now!
Die Murane: Yes I do. I’m a big fan of space exploration and sci-fi. But I doubt they’ll ever find a cure for a cold. Because I’ve still got it!
July 22nd, 2008 at 8:35 am
Cool. Now I am on hunger strike yet again, but I may eat later.
