With the same awkward care as holding a newborn for the first time, I unbundled him and took him in my hands. He looked so tiny and cute, wrapped in a thin pale pink blanket. I wondered where his talents would eventually lie, once he wakes up from his tranquil sleep. I stared at him and welcome him into my world. You and I are going places together. He remained silent, acquiescent, just the way I like him to be. I wonder what inspirations you’ll give me. I said with a faint smile. I felt him stir as I gently inserted the battery and powered him on. He awoke from hibernation with a cute yawn and a lot of promise. With my fingers on his keys and a light stroke of his pad, we were properly introduced. We are going to finish that novel together. But for the time being, we are… bonding.

I struggle when it becomes time to update my computer let alone ad devices, that absolutely never give me the warm and fuzzes, just the hot and Postals. I would do better with tech skills but for now I just have to overuse the word Luddite to help me cover my disability. I am shamed but at the same time, not really. Good luck with your little friend. Ooooh…someone’s got a new ultraportable. What is it? The awe inspiring X300? The amazing EeePC? Tell us! Tell us!

  3. gboy says:

Hehe, just for a second there I thought you’d joined the legions of queing nutters all clammering for a piece of i-junk. ;)

I should have known better… one who is so unafraid of the inside of a PC desktop case would scarcely bother!!!

  4. Zen Wizard says:

Will you give him cowriting credit on the sleeve?

Or will he be just an unsung hero like Jose Canseco’s ghostwriter??

I love Tamagotchi pets.  Oh, books are fun too.

  6. Sicilian Mama says:

I love new electronics!  I’m so glad that there’s another woman out there who loves them as much as me!

    Have fun bonding!

Does it come in purple? LOL

    I’m jealous! ;)

ps. hey — you may use a diff code over here than CSS (which is what I use in old blogger)… but I realy like the new-fangled “recent comments” widget on your sidebar.
    Share where you got it?

JW: No need to be ashamed. I’m a bit over the top when it comes to electronic gadgets. Whoever heard of upgrading a pen?

Kami: His surname is vaio, and he’s ever so sleek and sexy!

Gboy: I refuse to bow to an all-Apple god when Google already has my soul. As for the i-Junk (love it!!), I have an iHunk with a slideout keyboard that does me quite well, a bit hunky but we’re in a relationship.

You’re too right about opening that box! I can’t believe I’ve fixed it :|

Zen: If hr vcan ghost write, I’d even kiss him! Anything to get me writing that story and writing it well.

Egan: I’ve never had one. But I hear they’re cute and adorable if you’re into them.

Sicilian: I’m so glad another female shares my passion for geeky toys. And to say I played with Barbioe dolls as a child!

LB: It comes in Ruby Red, which is the closest. that was the colour I wanted but I got a very good deal on a black one. There was no way in hell I was buying pink!!!

The widget is a WordPress plugin, you download it and activate it but unfortunately won’t work on Blogger.

LB: For some reason, I’m keeping the lil double comment. Kinda cute ;)

  10. Kamigoroshi says:

Oooh…a Vaio. Maybe one fine day your Vaio and my EeePC will meet and they can make lots of…connections between one another. :)

Or they’ll just argue a lot. One never knows these things.

  11. Cléa says:

Kami: They’d probably argue over Bluetooth! :P

  12. egan says:

I drove across country with a Tamagotchi pet and the sucker kept me awake.  Seriously.  I didn’t want the thing to die on me so I remembered to feed it, shake it, … just not after midnight though.

  13. Cléa says:

egan: That’s so cute! Hope you weren’t driving and feeding. Hmm…that sounds wrong…

  14. egan says:

I was a very bad electronic virtual daddy.

  15. Cléa says:

egan: Really? I’m a good electronic virtual mummy. Maybe we should meet over a latte and discuss. Oh wait, you’re a Mac Daddy, aren’t you…
